AI and Ethics Report
A closed roundtable held on 13 May 2026 with more than 20 participants: the ethical tensions of AI, from data governance to the accountability of autonomous agents and from cognitive decline to the dilemma of regulation and sustainability, and the decision-maker fallacy, which the session called its greatest error of perception.

What is in the report?
Data Governance and Bias
The logic behind black-box decisions cannot be explained even to the companies that use the model; trained on historical data, AI systems copy and amplify the prejudices already in society.
Accountability and Autonomous Agents
Autonomous agents now act and make decisions in place of people; when one causes harm, it is unclear who is responsible: the manufacturer, the user or whoever trained the model.
Cognitive Decline and Human Capital
Handing cognitive work over to AI is eliminating the apprenticeship in which new graduates learn their profession; offloading reasoning to machines raises concern about cognitive decline.
Regulation and Sustainability
The EU AI Act places disproportionate compliance pressure on innovative ventures; AI's energy consumption also clashes with sustainability targets.
