The Artificial Intelligence and Technology Association (YZTD) is an independent non-profit that brings academics, companies, startups and public institutions working on AI in Türkiye onto a single platform. It is based in Istanbul and works through 14 sector committees. It is the official Türkiye representative of AAAI, one of the field's oldest international scientific organizations.
AI is discussed a great deal in Türkiye. The problem is that everyone is discussing it at a separate table.
Knowledge produced at universities reaches industry late. The obstacle a startup runs into never reaches the institution writing the regulation. Investors cannot see which field is maturing. Everyone is doing their own job well, but doing it separately. YZTD was founded to close that gap.
To bring the ecosystem's different actors onto a shared agenda, and to open the knowledge they produce to the public.
For Türkiye to be among the countries that set the direction in AI rather than merely apply it.

Independence
No institution's, sponsor's or public body's agenda is the Association's agenda. Sponsorship does not change a report's content, its conclusions or its publication date.
Evidence
When we take a position, we publish the data behind it. We do not use figures we cannot verify.
Responsible AI
We do not put technology's speed ahead of human safety. That holds for the policies we advocate and for the way we work.
Who makes the decisions?
The final word belongs to the General Assembly. It is made up of all members and meets every two years. The Board of Directors it elects includes the president, the vice presidents, the secretary general and committee representatives. An independent Audit Committee oversees the accounts. The Advisory Board carries academic and industry experience.
